Here’s How to Bring Them to Life
Follow your Dreams! Many people at different points of their lives fall into “the existential vacuum” – a concept introduced by Viktor Frankl that talks about one’s inability to find or create something meaningful in life, thus, leading them to feelings of aimlessness, alienation, and emptiness. However, you can get out of this vacuum by simply finding your passion and or having a dream you’d like to pursue.
Whether it’s buying your dream house, starting a business, writing a book, or relocating to a tropical island with your family, there’s probably a lot you’re yet to achieve, especially in terms of self-fulfillment. The only way to fuel your ambitions is to dive deeper into your mind and find what’s missing.
Although identifying your dreams is only the first step in pursuing your passion, it can be challenging, depending on your personality and lifestyle. Plus, you’ll still need to overcome a host of mental and physical obstacles to achieve them.
I’ll share how to identify your dreams and bring them to life. So, check it out below! I hope it helps.
How to Identify Your Dreams and Bring them to Life
Do you have dreams locked deep into your heart that you want to pursue? All dreams are built around the same question – “Will it happen?” Will she say yes? Will we win the championship this year? Will I be able to go on the trip I’ve been postponing for years? No matter your question, it must be compelling enough to make you revamp your lifestyle and change your trajectory to ensure you get that “Yes.”
Most things we dream about seem romantic in hindsight. However, at the moment, they require work. Moreover, they require finding the will to fight the fear that it won’t happen, along with the constant interruptions, opinions, and diversions stopping you from being throughout .
Here are some do’s and don’ts to help you get over the mental obstacles:
Don’ts
1. Don’t Wait for the Opportune Moment Or Perfect Situation
No matter what you do, you’ll never find the perfect situation to make your dreams come true. You’ll always find something that’ll make you think again or reconsider your decision. Instead of following this toxic cycle, you should break it by simply going for it. Think of it as asking for forgiveness rather than permission.
2. Don’t Expect People to Buy Into Your Dreams Or Agree With Them
Another mistake people make is trying to get others onboard their dream wagon and welcome opinions, especially those filled with doubts and negativity. The truth is your dream is about you. Therefore, you don’t have to make people buy into it or agree with you. There will always be opposition, and that’s okay. Waiting until there’s a consensus will always keep you in chains and waste your time.
3. Don’t Wait Until You Master a Skill or Concept
Another obstacle many people put in front of themselves is waiting to master a skill until they start pursuing their dreams or goals. However, the truth is that you’re more likely to learn a lot more by doing instead of just waiting and learning the theory. For instance, if you have a passion for blogging, you don’t have to take long writing and marketing courses.
You just have to get started. The first months will be tough. However, once you slowly get into your strive and learn by failing, you’ll start noticing a huge difference in terms of quality and viewership. Simply put, the three points are trying to say the best time to start working on your dream is now.
Do’s
1. Be Optimistic
One of the best things you can do to fuel your passion is to be optimistic. Believing in your dream is one of the main prerequisites for building the motivation you need to achieve it. If you try to fool your heart, it’s just not going to work as you’ll always remain in “flight” mode. Until you believe something can happen deep down, you won’t find the willpower to pursue it.
2. Visualize Your Dream
Can you imagine – in detail – what it would be like when your dream comes true? Try to feel the emotions, the relief, and the satisfaction filling in. Visualizing your dream is no different from fueling your body with a Red Bull or a shot of espresso, as it will energize you to make sure it comes to life. This feeling of potential self-fulfillment is something many people spend their lives trying to build.
3. Know the Road Won’t Be Easy
While no dream is impossible, many can be quite hard to achieve. Therefore, if you think it’s going to be easy, think again. Instead, you should build the right expectations from the beginning and anticipate the obstacles you may come across on your journey. This way, you’ll remain motivated no matter how many battles you lose and continue to fight on until you get what you want.
4. One Step At a Time
You might have a big dream, and that’s okay. In the beginning, it might seem too overwhelming to pursue. However, if you follow an old saying, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” you might find the confidence it takes to push out all the doubt and negativity from your mind. Still, you need to be smart about it.
Break down your goals into small achievable targets so you don’t bite more than you can chew. Think longer and harder about what you cant to achieve, and slowly embark on your journey.
Wrapping Up
Pursuing your passion can be a complicated journey filled with pain and laughter. However, if you plan it out carefully, you’ll find the clarity and motivation needed to bring it to fruition. Everyone has their way of finding their narrative traction to get them interested in their lives and goals. It’s just a matter of looking inside.
