Top Companies Owned by Successful Celebrities

The super rich celebrities of Hollywood rarely have one single source of income. Well, of course, they generate tons of money through their acting gigs, commercials, and social media roles, but what’s the harm in hedging your funds in a trusted business?

A number of A-list celebs from Hollywood have invested in businesses to drive solid returns and also focus on incremental returns and growth. Celebrities from Hollywood, sports, and singing have made quite stellar careers in business management and have invested in a variety of businesses.

For example:

George Clooney – Casamigos Tequila

As women think, a heartthrob on TV, George Clooney, he was also the proud owner of Casamigos Tequila. The Tequila brand was founded by Clooney alongside two other friends Mike Meldman and Rande Gerber. Gerber is a restaurant mogul, while Meldman is the CEO of Discovery Land.

Clooney and Gerber were together on vacation in Cabo when they thought of a tequila that wouldn’t lead to a hangover. The founders are part of the development process and taste every batch that goes into the market for quality control. Call it the Clooney touch, but Casamigos has a smooth taste to it and leaves you pleasantly surprised with every sip.

Founded in 23013, they sold it to Diageo just four years later in a deal worth nearly a billion dollars

Drake – Virginia Blake Whiskey

Drake’s Virginia Blake Whiskey follows the success achieved by the hip-hop artist in his musical pursuits. The whiskey was launched after a collaboration with spirit maker Brent Hocking from Los Angeles. LCBO, the premium liquor seller in Ontario, Canada, sold over 1,779 bottles of this whiskey the day after it was first launched.

Beyonce – The 22 Days Nutrition Package

Beyonce started the 22 Days of Nutrition movement back in 2013 when she started working with Jay Z and Mark Borges. This idea focuses on developing a habit in 21 days and working on products that help people develop crazy health habits in 21 days.

Beyonce partnered with hubby Jay Z for the partnership opportunity and announced she would be starting with a vegan diet for 3 weeks. The diet has now grown into a proper business and is backed by successful products and placement. The plan is known as ‘the Beyonce Diet’ and is backed by the successful habits of the star herself.

Mark Wahlberg – Wahlburgers

Well, doesn’t take a lot to guess who owns Wahlburgers. The Wahlberg brothers came together in 2010 to open the famous gourmet burger chain called Wahlburgers in their hometown of Boston.

Both Donnie and Mark are renowned actors and singers, but Paul is a trained chef and has sufficient experience in the restaurant industry. All restaurants under the burger chain come with liquor, craft beer, and other gourmet items as part of the package. The beef burgers have patties weighing up to half a pound and come with sauteed mushrooms, tomato jam, Swiss cheese, and even bacon.

Wahlburgers just recently signed a new agreement with five different franchise groups to open 30 new restaurants or franchises of the burger chain in seven different states across the United States. The burger joint is also found in Toronto, Canada.

Ryan Gosling – Tagine Restaurant

Ryan Gosling made his entry into the restaurant business after the success of his famous romantic drama film ‘The Notebook’. The actor first launched his Moroccan food business in Beverly Hills in 2003, where he partnered with co-worker Chris Angulo and head chef Ben.

Gosling absolutely loves Ben’s cooking and has even said he could have food made by him for the rest of his life. The restaurant has a 4.4 food rating on Zagat due to its quality output and is loved by friends and family alike.

Marilyn Manson – Mansinthe

Another profitable business linked to a celebrity owner, Mansinthe, is a brand of absinthe that is highly popular among users. Mansinthe matches the mercurial appearance of Marilyn Manson himself and is famous among a number of users worldwide.

The brand features a watercolor painting done by Manson himself, titled ‘When I Get Old.’

Maria Sharapova – Sugarpova

Maria Sharapova, the dazzling tennis star from Russia, is famous for her backhands and success on the court. However, the Russian star has gone beyond the court to launch a brand that not many will associate with successful tennis.

Sugarpova is a range of yummy candies launched by Sharapova to reach a new market of young candy eaters. The brand has grown over time and sells apparel along with chocolates as well. Sugarpova Premium chocolates were launched in 2017 and have gained traction with most users.

Jessica Alba – The Honest Co

Jessica Alba founded the Honest Co in a bid to develop natural products and diapers for children to use. The firm was valued at a whopping $1.7 billion in 2015 and raised over $100 million in funding.

The brand has been under scrutiny for some time now for deceptive marketing and concerns regarding sunscreen. Users suggest that the sunscreen developed by the brand can lead to burns on the skin.

Drew Barrymore – Barrymore Wines

Drew Barrymore has had a successful acting and hosting career and decided to step into the wine industry with Barrymore Wines. The actor successfully partnered with Kris Kato to create wines for the American market. The actress is known to be passionate about wines and is a big fan of her concoction.

Celebrities have plenty of money to invest in novel business ideas and have successfully launched high-performing businesses.
